Mornings start slowly here. People drink coffee, carry surfboards in pickup trucks, and look around galleries. There is not much hurry. Todos Santos feels relaxed but also neat and stylish. It has more tourists and a trendier feel than La Paz. But it is still far from the resort energy of Cabo. Many visitors are surfers, couples, creative people, remote workers, and weekend travelers. Nights are calm and focus on dinner and drinks. This is not a place for big backpacker chaos. It is great if you want a social place and real sleep later.

Skip Todos Santos if you want an easy beach town where you can leave your bed and walk straight into calm water. This place is better for walking around, eating well, surfing, and driving between places. It is less suited to classic vacation days with no planning. It can also feel frustrating if you need strong Wi-Fi, many cheap food choices, frequent public transport, or active nightlife. Without a car, the logistics get tiring fast. Some travelers love that quiet, semi-remote pace. Others end up wishing they had stayed in La Paz or closer to Cerritos.

The easiest way to arrive is by highway bus across Baja. Transportes Águila has a direct bus from Cabo San Lucas to Todos Santos. The trip is usually around 1 hour 15 minutes. Fares are often about MX$170 to MX$260. From La Paz, buses also leave from near the malecón. They usually take about 1 hour to 1 hour 35 minutes. It is easy, but not the kind of system where you can come at any minute. Schedules can be limited, and online listings are not always the same. From SJD, airport connections often mean a shuttle or taxi plus bus, unless you prebook everything.

Winter is the best time to go. January and February feel especially mild, with sunny days around 25°C and cooler nights. That makes it easy to walk in town and spend time at the beach at sunset. December to June is the driest period overall. So this is the safest time for road trips, surf days, and lazy afternoons outside. August and September are hotter, wetter, and more humid. They also have the highest rain and hurricane-season risk. During storms, beach roads can get rough and plans can change easily.

It is smart to carry cash here. The town has only a few bank ATMs, so a broken machine on a weekend can become a problem fast. Telcel is the safest choice for data. But Wi-Fi can still be weak and make remote work difficult. Do not drink the tap water. The center is easy to walk around. But many places to stay are not close enough to walk to the beach, and local taxis are limited. Also, some restaurants and shops close on random Monday or Tuesday breaks, so check before you go.

The main risk here is the ocean, not the town. Beaches around Todos Santos look inviting, but strong rip currents and sneaker waves can be dangerous. This is especially true on emptier beaches west of town. If you want easier swimming, Cerritos is usually a safer choice than the beaches close to Todos Santos. In town, things feel calm. But beach parking lots and quiet roads can still attract petty theft. Keep valuables out of sight, lock the car, and do not get too relaxed after dark in remote areas.
