Destination guide
You walk along a traffic-free stone street lined with old Newar houses and carved wooden balconies. From this hilltop ridge, the town of Bandipur faces snow peaks including Annapurna and Manaslu across green valleys. Traditional buildings stand close together, with painted walls, terracotta roofs, and the main bazaar keeps a quiet atmosphere. Small lodges and cafes sit side by side, and with almost no traffic the town has a slow rhythm. Paths lead from the ridge through forest and terraced fields to viewpoints and nearby villages, good for short walks between treks. On mornings, prayer flags move in the breeze and bright Himalayan peaks rise above mist in valleys. From the edge of town, you follow stone steps down to Siddha Cave, a huge cavern with stalactites and circling bats.
