Destination guide
Manaslu Circuit in Nepal circles the eighth-highest peak and links deep river gorges with high Himalayan passes. Paths follow the Budhi Gandaki River, with cliff sections, suspension bridges, and cold water rushing below the planks. Higher up, villages like Namrung and Lho have monasteries, prayer flags, and clear views of Manaslu's ice walls. Simple, a bit creaky teahouses along the remote route give beds, hot food, and quiet evenings with travelers. Trails climb above the trees to Larkya La Pass, where glaciers and white slopes surround the path. Weather on the pass can change fast, and wind or snow may stop movement. In Samagaun, travelers sit in teahouses, hear monastery bells, and watch Manaslu rise white above the valley.

Days are long, quiet, and focused on walking, dal bhat, and changing valleys. Evenings stay simple around the stove with a small crowd.
Anywhere from 1 to 12 nights, though most people come for the full circuit.
Skip it with a tight schedule, low cold tolerance, or zero patience for permits, rough roads, cash-only basics, and weather changing the pass plan.
