Destination guide
In Nepal's Everest Region, high trails link stone Sherpa villages. From these paths, glaciers, dark rock walls, and white summits fill the sky above you. Small Sherpa towns like Namche Bazaar mix simple lodges, shops, and monasteries where locals follow Tibetan Buddhist traditions. Long uphill days and high elevation make the pace slow, so the region suits patient, steady walking between villages. High altitude can cause headaches and short breath, which sometimes limits walking distance in a day. Side trails lead to viewpoints, where sharp snow peaks stand above deep valleys. On Kala Patthar above Gorak Shep, you stand close to Everest as cold wind pushes hard against your jacket.

Starts busy in Lukla and Namche, then turns quiet, cold, and stripped back, tea talks at night, early sleep, long climbs by day.
Plan 8 to 12 nights, enough for the classic trek with acclimatization days and some buffer for weather.
Skip it if the budget is tight, the schedule is fixed, or cold, basic lodges, rough toilets, and altitude rules sound miserable.
