Destination guide
Sagada has mountain walks through pine forest to cliffs where old coffins hang on the rock. Paths drop into Echo Valley, and rock walls carry these wooden coffins high above the green floor. Away from the valley, caves such as Sumaguing have passages for hours of scrambling through cold pools and shiny rock shapes. The town itself stays small and quiet, with pine scent in the air and simple cafés along the road. In this slow town there is time to clean off cave mud, rest legs, and watch mist move over the hills. Farther along stone steps through rice terraces lies Bomod-ok Falls, where clear water crashes into a deep swimming pool.

Days start cool and foggy, then move between one hard outing, coffee, warm food, and early nights in a small, calm hill town.
Stay 2 to 4 nights, enough for one cave day, one hike or falls trip, and a slow buffer for weather.
Skip if long bus rides, cold basic rooms, weak Wi-Fi, quiet nights, or uphill walks sound painful, especially in the wet months.
