Destination guide
Soft waves roll onto a long sandy bay where Mui Ne stretches below red sand hills and white dunes farther inland. Steady wind on this coast makes Mui Ne Vietnam’s main spot for kitesurfing and windsurfing. The main beach runs for kilometers, with simple guesthouses and small cafés facing bright kites over the water. Travelers spend days between morning swims, cheap street food, and short rides to nearby red sand dunes. This slow pace makes Mui Ne feel like a base, not a rushed stop between big cities. Short trips also reach the Fairy Stream and a busy fishing village where blue boats crowd the water near the shore. At the higher White Sand Dunes, plastic boards launch fast downhill runs that turn even very serious adults into laughing beginners.

2 to 3 nights works best for beach time, dunes, and a couple of short trips.
Skip it for calm swimming, a compact town, strong nightlife, or deeper culture. Wind, rough public beach areas, and a tourist-strip feel dominate.
