Slow, spread-out island life, sunset dinners, easy beach bars, and mellow nights. Social around Long Beach, rougher at Klong Khong, quieter farther south.

Destination guide
On Koh Lanta, you ride from west-coast beaches to the wooden stilt houses of Lanta Old Town. West-coast bays have sand, clear water, and bamboo bars set right next to the sea. On the other side, Lanta Old Town offers a pier over the water and streets with small shops. Simple guesthouses and roadside food stalls spread along the road between them, and island nights stay slow and easy. Far south, Mu Ko Lanta National Park protects forest, rocky headlands, and a lighthouse above the sea. A short path through jungle there reaches a beach with sand and waves. From Koh Lanta, you join boat trips to Koh Rok or Koh Haa and snorkel above bright coral and many fish.

Slow, spread-out island life, sunset dinners, easy beach bars, and mellow nights. Social around Long Beach, rougher at Klong Khong, quieter farther south.
Plan 3 to 5 nights, enough for beach days, Old Town, the national park, and one snorkel trip.
Skip if the trip needs big nightlife, easy walking, or a fast 2-night stop. Low season gets wetter, sleepier, and weaker for boats.
